Right then - picture this. I'm a Colombian actor in London who ends up playing Oscar Hernandez, a health club cleaner. Talk about method acting! Could've just walked down any street in the city - half of us Colombians are keeping London's offices spotless. Though I reckon my mopping technique in that scene was proper embarrassing for the reputation.

Working with Meera Syal was brilliant. Even when I'm lying there playing dead (harder than it looks, by the way - try not breathing while someone's rummaging for evidence), she kept everything so natural. There's something quite surreal about being the victim that kicks off a whole series. First Colombian in London not actually cleaning, and look what happens - poor Oscar finds dodgy books instead of dirty floors!

The gym scenes were a laugh, actually. Should've done some proper research, spent a day with a mop. Would've helped with the authenticity, innit? But no, Oscar was more interested in spotting dodgy numbers than dusty corners.

Funny how your big break in British TV comes from being the bloke who gets killed in episode one. From watching my compatriots actually cleaning offices in London to playing a cleaner who spots fraud - now that's what I call career progression, Colombian style!

Mind you, next time I spot suspicious accounting at work, I'm definitely keeping my mouth shut. Might stick to proper cleaning - at least we know how to leg it when things get dodgy...
